Newsletter Launch!
The start of something new!
Good Afternoon, Raleigh!
Welcome to the first day of February. Quick reminder for those who celebrate that is prime time to get Valentines plans settled. Reservations are going fast from what I have started to see.
Today’s issue is going to be a bit more wordy as I work out the kinks and introduce myself, so fair warning.
Inbox Contents
A Raleigh native who firmly believes that this city is what you make of it, and what you make of it, is based mostly on where you spend your time. That’s where I come in.
I have previously run social groups in the area, worked in the heart of downtown, and am aiming to launch a small business (more on that soon).
My motivation for writing this newsletter comes from my desire to share the great things that I know about the city with people who are looking to get to know it better.
In my personal time, I enjoy keeping up with the Hurricanes, reading books, and spending time out in the local music scene with anything from jazz to line dancing, open mics to sold out Red Hat shows. It’s a big part of my life.
So, with all of that out of the way. It’s nice to meet you!
Thanks to some friends who have pushed me to make my ability to keep up with local happenings and events more widely known, this newsletter now exists.
My goal with this is simple and can be explained in three main points:
I will respect your time, inbox, and attention.
I aim to provide curated info, on local events, without being overwhelming.
I want to bring more attention to local business, artists, venues, and the like.
For the moment, I aim to release these 3 times a week. If things take off, I may consider upping that to each and every day but I want to enjoy the process.
Musicians Corner
Spotlight on some key music acts, that I think sound fun (and hope you do too).
Feb 1st
7PM - Fireside Collective @ The Lincoln Theatre | Raleigh - $27.25
8PM - Fancy Gap, Susto, & House of Fools @ The Pour House | Raleigh - $20-$25
Feb 2nd
4PM - Bluegrass Open Jam - Bond Brothers Eastside, Cary (FREE)
6PM - Jazz @ Watts & Ward - Raleigh (FREE)
Local Business Spotlight
For the first local business spotlight, I will be starting off promoting a business a friend of mine owns. I may be biased but the Google Reviews aren’t, his company does a great job and will help get your business noticed online.
