My name is Mason. Your friendly neighborhood newsletter author.

I am the local voice behind the emails you get each week and I enjoy finding all of the exciting things this city has to offer.

But here’s a bit more if you’re interested.

Facts About Me

1) I am from Raleigh (easy first fact).

I feel that I can wear the title of “local” pretty well but I did spend a good portion of my life in other areas and states, only to move back to Raleigh in 2020.

It always felt like home and with a project like this, I‘ll be here a while.

2) I am a local musician (and wannabe writer).

I love highlighting the great acts around town. I play both the guitar and piano and am working on my own music to share one day, as well as a few books.

Catch me at a local music joint pretty much every week.

3) Like many people, I went to school for Art and ended up in Tech.

I worked in Graphic Design & Animation for a bit, used to do some Photography, and eventually moved into Cyber Security (quite a change, I know).

How the Newsletter Started

The idea for this newsletter started because my friends kept asking me what there was to do and I always seemed to have an answer that would get people out.

So, I figured, why not take my interest in local happenings, clean up the texts I was sending to my friends, and turn it into a resource for everyone to benefit from?

My goal is simple, to connect others to the best of Raleigh.

But as it has grown, it’s changed into something a bit more.

A space for thousands in Raleigh to keep up with as well, so my standards continue to rise for what it is I am putting out there.

I really do take this whole quirky project very seriously.

So what do I need from you? Your thoughts of course!

I ask that you engage with the content, email me back, respond to the polls I share, like the content if you like it, dislike it if you don’t (it’s only fair).

I know it is hard to believe in the modern era but I am trying to keep this a great resource for our local area, a rare place of refuge on the internet if you will.
