Show of The Week - Raleighoke @ Tap Yard

They’ve got two shows on the community calendar this month but Raleigh’s live band karaoke experience, Raleighoke is heading to Tap Yard on August 2nd! Show goes from 8PM to midnight, but doors and signup begins at 7PM — tickets $9 online.

• Band on the Roof plays upstairs at Oak City Cycling (Oakwood) with a intimate solo show from Parker Gispert, front-man of The Whigs ( they’ve opened for Kings of Leon) — check out details here.

• Get your Hopscotch Music Festival tickets before Friday! After that, prices go up, so go ahead and snag a spot or volunteer to get access to this wildly popular music event.

• Raleigh has another corpse flower! Check out the live stream and try to visit Juniper Level in person to catch this rare bloom with quite a unique smell (hence it’s name):

• Starting in just a few minutes at 9AM (and recurring monthly it seems), A Place at the Table is bringing back their Walk Club for 2 mile trek around downtown — snacks after!

• Houseplant Bingo Night at Atlantic Gardening starts at 5:30 tonight, ticket includes 5 bingo cards and each winner gets a 4” tropical plant from the greenhouse! — details.

• The 17th Annual Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival starts Friday and runs through Saturday over at Koka Booth Amphitheatre — tickets starting at $29 for live music, BBQ, bourbon, and more running until 10PM Friday — get a souvenir glass upon entry.

• It’s First Friday! As always check out the bulk of the happenings around Moore Square and up to the Raleigh Times area but vendors across town have special events as well. For example, Whiskey Kitchen has a local artist popup/showcase at 6PM — event info.
