First Friday: Free Local Market Event + Movie

When & Where: 5PM, Around Moore Square — Events & Vendor Info

• One of Raleigh’s largest monthly events! Thousands gather downtown for live music, local art, late night exhibitions, and restaurant specials. This is a citywide event but the core of the celebration takes place around Moore Square up to Fayetteville Street.

• Did you know we have our very own local American Professional Women’s Soccer Team? Check out their return to the regular season schedule as they hope to bring back a win against the San Diego Wave as they fight their way into the playoff ranks.

An Evening with Dan Carlin: Host of Hardcore History

When & Where: Doors 6:30PM @ Meymandi Concert Hall — Tickets

• Dan Carlin has been podcasting since 2005, and has a knack for sharing history in a gripping yet informative way. This night combines aspects of his radio and journalism skills with his passion for history, politics, media, and more.

August 5th: Carolina Mudcats Final Season, Second to Last Homestand — tickets.

August 7th: Jazz in the Square Concert Series Begins @ Moore Square! — info.

Sir Walter Miler: Elite Running + Carnival + Brews

When & Where: 6PM at Meredith College — 2025 Info

• This event is an outdoor one mile race held in August each year where fans line the track to cheer on some of the best All American Athletes. Catch the carnival and post party before and after the race events!

Bizarre Bazaar: Community Event + Market

When & Where: 5PM in front of Le Dive — Info Page

• Local Art, Motorcycles, Live Music, Tattoos, Brews, Food, Books, Clothes, & More. What else could you possibly need? This event shuts down the road in front of the venue, you don’t want to miss this.

August 10th: Grace Hartigan’s, “The Gift of Attention” exhibit ends @ NCMA — info.

Durham Bulls vs Nashville Sounds — 6 Game Homestand!

When & Where: ~6PM (Varies) @ Durham Bulls Athletic Park — Tickets

• The first of 3 remaining home game stretches means we are in sight of the end of summer. Only a few more Fireworks, Bark in the Parks, and Kids Days left so get over to a game before the season ends.

Live After 5: Last Event of the Season!

When & Where: 6PM @ City Plaza, Fayetteville Street — Details

Chatham Rabbits and Jack The Radio take the stage for the last event of the summer series. Get there early to grab a seat in one of the new shaded tables in City Plaza or stop by one of the local vendors/restaurants for some food and drink while you listen.

Packapalooza: NC State University Block Party

When & Where: 2-10PM on Hillsborough Street — Details

• This FREE, family friendly event shuts down the entirety of Hillsborough Street and attracts nearly 85,000 visitors every year. There will be more than 300 vendor booths and a ton of things to do, with the main area taking place in front of the Belltower Stage in front of Jubala Coffee.

The End of Summer: Music + Arts Festival

• There aren’t a ton of details yet but Oak City Music Collective tends to draw a great crowd. We know there will be music, art, and vendors and it’s a great chance to check out Gipson Play Plaza if you haven’t had a chance to make it out yet.
