Email Marketing for Raleigh Businesses, Run by Folks Who Send Email for a Living

Most agencies sell email as one line item on a long list of services. It’s part of a quote from a large team, that treats you like a line item.

We aim do the opposite.

While email may be a small part of your business, it’s everything we do. We write, design, and send The Raleighwood Inbox to thousands Raleigh locals every week, with open rates and engagement levels at 3x the industry average.

So, we are excited to announce that we are building and running newsletters for local businesses that want the same thing: an audience they can reach and own, based on best practices, and one written by humans, for humans.

You Already Have the Emails, You're Just Not Using Them.

If you run a restaurant, salon, gym, or shop in Raleigh, you have probably collected hundreds (or even thousands) of customer emails through your PoS, reservation platform, or booking system.

You know the bunch: OpenTable, Toast, Resy, Square, Tock, & More.

They ALL capture emails yet most of the folks we talk to have not sent an email to that list in months.

Did you know that your email list is the cheapest marketing channel you will ever have. There is no social algorithm, no ad budget needed to reach them, and they are already someone familiar with you because every name on it has already walked through your door once.

We turn dormant lists into a newsletter your customers actually open, and that brings them back through the door.

The Value Hidden in 1% of Your Email List

It may sound obvious but a well written newsletter can be the difference maker for thousands of dollars in revenue each month.

Here is a short example:

  • You have a list of 10,000 emails and you don’t know how to clean it.

  • Average list cleaning may lose 30-70% of that list size, but that is okay.

  • Working with even the worse case, you have 3,000 ready to send emails.

  • At just 1% conversion of that 3,000 you have 30 people that act.

  • For a restaurant with a $100 average table, that is $3000 in revenue.

The best news here is that most lists are bigger and conversions can land higher (between 2-5%) with a well managed email list. Now picture what that $3000 can turn into instead.

That is the value of email done right.

What We Can Handle

Everything, honestly. This is a turnkey solution. But specifically:

  • Setup and migration: Platform setup, list import and cleaning, and the DNS authentication work (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) that keeps you out of spam folders. Most local businesses fail this step without knowing it.

  • Design: A template that looks like your brand, not a marketing blast from a generic marketing service like SpotHopper.

  • Writing: We write in a voice your customers will recognize as yours. We’ve honed this voice locally for years ourselves.

  • Ongoing sends. A consistent cadence, managed end to end. You approve, we handle the rest.

  • Reporting. Opens, clicks, and what actually drove visits, written with actionable insights and plain English.

Why Hire a Newsletter Operator Instead of a Marketing Agency?

It’s just a natural fit, a local operator helps local businesses. That’s the way we think it should be in a community and that’s the way we work.

  • We practice what we preach. The Raleighwood Inbox is a working product with public numbers, not a portfolio. You can subscribe right now and see the effort we put forth every week, from writing, to design, to the intent behind our words.

  • Email is not our side offering: Agencies juggle your account across paid ads, social media, SEO, and whatever else you were quoted for. We focus on the one thing and it’s one of the only channels you FULLY control.

  • We are actually in Raleigh: We know the difference between Moore Square and Nash Square, and it shows up in the writing. Your newsletter should sound like it was written by someone who has been in your building and talked to it’s people. That’s what we do.

I’m Mason, the Local Operator behind The Raleighwood Inbox.

Built for Local, Customer-Facing Businesses

Our best fits for this service are Raleigh and Triangle businesses whose customers live nearby and come back often. We work with a limited amount of them per month, so we can focus on crafting a quality product.

Here are a few of of the best spots for this service:

  • Restaurants, cafes, and breweries

  • Salons, barbershops, and studios

  • Gyms and fitness

  • Retail shops and markets

  • Venues and event spaces

If your customers are local and repeat visits matter, email works. If you are B2B or national eCommerce, we are probably not the best fit for your team, and we will tell you that on the first call.

How It Works

  1. Intro call (10-15 minutes). You tell us about the business and what the status of your email setup currently is. Totally free to book a call.

  2. Build-out. We handle setup, design, and your first email sends on the clean setup. Typical timeline is 4 weeks from kickoff.

  3. Ongoing. We keep it running on a monthly cadence you approve. Cancel anytime; the list and the newsletter are yours, not ours. This step is optional if you’d like your team to take over the fresh setup.

Common Questions

How much does email marketing cost? Our pilot engagements are custom per business but start as low as $849 depending on your need. Exact pricing is based on list size and send frequency. You will see a number after or during the first call, so you know early what you’re working with.

Do I need a big email list for this to work? No. A clean list of 500 regulars beats a stale list of 10,000. We can also work with you on the email collection points to grow it further

What platform do you use? We build primarily on Beehiiv, with migrations from Mailchimp, Constant Contact, and many other tools handled as part of initial setup. You keep full ownership and admin access.

We tried a newsletter before and nobody opened it. Why would this be different? Usually the issue us one of three fixable problems: broken setup landing you in spam, generic content that read like a sales pitch, or an inconsistent schedule and voice. The free call can help diagnose this further.

Who owns the list and the content? You do. Everything we build lives in accounts you own. If we part ways, you keep all of it.
