We’ve got a lot to cover today, so I’ll keep it short and sweet up here at the top.

• Deputy Chief Rico Boyce will be the 31st Chief of the Raleigh Police Department, taking over for Chief Estella Patterson, who retired March 1st after 35 years of service.
• The Time is Always Now exhibition begins March 8th at NCMA and goes through June, purchased tickets can include the Grace Hartigan exhibit in April as well.
• Cary is having it’s first Night Market of the season on March 21st, it will start at 5PM and take place in the Downtown Cary Park.
• The Bike Library has shared some renders of their potential new shop location to eventually be built out in the West End District of Downtown Raleigh.

• After a Red Flag Warning this past weekend for dry windy conditions, several wildfires are burning still in the Western NC, some with evacuations still in effect.
• Chancellor Randy Woodson was honored during a ceremony recently to celebrate his 14 year tenure at NC State, as he intends to retire in June. Read more here.

• NCSU Women’s Basketball claims the #1 seed in the ACC tournament after a win against SMU, beating them Sunday, 69-45. Watch them Friday in the Quarterfinals.
• NCSU Men’s Basketball fell 62-87 against Georgia Tech this weekend, they play their last home game against Pitt at 7PM Wednesday.
• NCSU Softball beat out Queens University & UNC Wilmington at Home this weekend in The Raleigh Times tournament, they lost in the first 2 (of 5) games Friday.
• NCSU Baseball beat Canisius in all three of their triple header games at home this weekend, outscoring them in total 32-13.
• The Hurricanes fell at home Saturday against the Oilers, 3-1 after a couple close calls in the 3rd attempting to tie the game. They fought back in overtime last night against the Flames, winning 2-1 with Aho sinking his 5th OT winner of the season.

• North Carolina FC kick off their season at WakeMed Soccer Park on March 8th @ 7PM against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, followed by the NC Courage who start their season away on March 15th with their first home game on the 19th.
