Rain or shine, we've got Mother's Day markets, movie nights, and more blooming this weekend!
Good Morning Raleigh and Happy Friday!
As many of today’s events tend to focus around holidays and this weekend is no different. This Sunday (if you forgot) is Mother’s Day, so look forward to markets and flowers galore.
But we’ve got plenty more to cover as well, let’s get into it.

• Speaking of Mother’s Day (or for you new grads, congrats!) stop by the Flower Cart Pop-up over next to Cantina 18 from 11-2PM today to pickup pre-made bouquets or work with them to create your own — click here to learn more.
• Tonight from 5-9PM enjoy the movie Tangled for Second Friday Movie Nights @ Moore Square, food trucks and music start at 5, with the movie going until 7:30 — more here.

• As suspected the Greensboro Gargoyles (ECHL) have announced the Carolina Hurricanes as their official affiliate team. Check out the official announcement video — linked here.

• hurricanes: coming off a win in game 1, the canes played game 2 away again, this time losing 1-3 in regulation. we take on the caps again at home this sunday for game 3.

• NCSU: Men’s Basketball in the ACC will have 18 conference games, instead of the recent format of 20, to help with scheduling conflicts — read more on the change here.
• NC FC: Coming off a loss against Charlotte, the FC hope to bounce back against Orange County at home TONIGHT at 7PM.
• NC Courage: The Courage take on Orlando Pride tomorrow at home, at 7:30PM. The Pride are ranked 2nd but your Courage gave the 1st ranked team a loss a few weeks ago, so cheer them on if you can!
• NASCAR Regional: The Acorn City 160 tonight has been postpone due to rain, the next race is scheduled for May 16th. This is the second week in a row a race has been rescheduled due to weather.

Raleigh is cool but so are our neighbors.
• The Durham Farmers’ Market has their Strawberry Shindy tomorrow from 8-12PM at Durham Central Park complete with free strawberry cupcakes, strawberry samplings, seasonal vendors and more — see the flyer here.
• The Geek and Grub Market in Apex is happening tomorrow from 4-9PM at Optimist Farm in Apex. They offer cosplay, game merch, vendors, and more — link here.
• Dinsey’s Asteria Community over in Pittsboro has started it’s first phase to buy 1,500 acres of land, landing 217 for $23 million recently — see more about the interesting community concept at this link.
• Still in a Star Wars mood? Five County Stadium in Zebulon (home of the Mudcats) is bringing Solo: A Star Wars Story to the field tonight for FREE. The event is blanket only seating in the outfield and gates open at 6PM — link to event here.
