Rainy Days Can't Stop The Music - Feb. 12th

Progress towards the Lenovo Center build out, lots of local live music (seriously!), and at least a little bit more rainy weather for the week.

Good morning Raleigh!

The rainy weather made for a bit of a slow week with sports and local news but the music scene is on full blast as we make it through the middle of the week.

Raleigh Area Staples

• The 80 acre area around the Lenovo Center just got its rezoning approval on the road to becoming a major Entertainment District with parts of it slated to be finished by the 2026 NCSU Football Season, however city council still needs to approve.

Renderings of new development proposals, still in the works.

• Lawmakers approved further Hurricane Helene relief this week, adding nearly $500 million more funding to the disaster relief efforts still ongoing in the area.

• Durham based Simons Says Dip This! is opening the a new location at Bloc[83] near 321 Coffee on Hillsborough Street, opening TBA for a mid to late February date.

Sports & Athletics

• Trying to break their losing streak, NCSU Men’s Basketball returns home to play Louisville Wednesday at 7PM - Tickets left ranging from $23-$53, link here.

• This past weekend the Hurricanes beat Utah Hockey Club 7-3, making it only the 3rd time this season the Canes have scored 7 or more goals in a game.
