Post-Weekend Reset? Yes, please. - Apr. 7th

I found out from some of my friends (TRI readers also) that they enjoy my taglines so here's one just for you guys. Thanks for the support!

That’s just the way it goes isn’t it Raleigh? The last edition I shared, we had so much to do, I couldn’t get it all posted. This time, well let’s just say it seems we all needed a Monday reset.

Here’s a few things to start your day off with but we’re taking it a bit easy for now.

• Since 1933, The NC Governors Inaugural Ball has honored the new Governor and Council of State. Put on by the Junior League of Raleigh, this event drew crowds and fundraising for the community — See how it went down in the video here.

• The Crunkleton is FINALLY opening! If you’re downtown you have probably walked by the work in progress storefront inside of Smoky Hollow but come Tuesday, you will be able to walk in and order yourself oysters, wings, steaks, & more.

• Starting April 7th the DMV is expanding it’s office hours at most of its offices. They will now be open from 7-5pm, so you can now wait in line longer! (whoops, did I say that out loud?) — full list of new hours here.

• JC Raulston Arboretum has their Online (and in-person) Spring Plant Sale going live today at 9AM through April 10th. The link to buy online will open once the public sale goes live shortly and pickup dates can be scheduled through the 19th — More info here.

Free Events first, then organized by time.

Hurricanes: After clinching their Stanley Cup Playoff spot, the Hurricanes have lost their last two games, losing to the Bruins Saturday 1-5. The Canes only have a few home games left before the post-season begins — catch the remaining watch parties here.

Psst, here is Lil Wayne at Dreamville rocking a Canes jersey he purchased when he last played at Lenovo Center, a nice touch for the weekend festival.

The Lenny, a new Durham rooftop and restaurant bar is opening Wednesday on S. Mangum St, overlooking the Durham Bulls stadium and promises weekend brunch, cocktails, dinner & more — Check out the below for Raleigh Mag’s exclusive inside look.

Thanks for reading! I am trying something new (it seems like all the cool kids are doing it) so let me know your general feel for the newsletters each day with the quick survey below.

Since we don’t talk a ton (you can if you want, just reply to this email!) this is a nice way to keep me updated on if you are enjoying this content or not.

See you Wednesday!
