Good Morning and Happy Wednesday! We’re glad you’re here and welcome to our first weekly edition as we move away from the 3x weekly format.

Things have moved around a little bit and we are looking for some final feedback, if you have any more thoughts on the format (it was created based on some already) just reply to the email.

Wednesday - 18th

Thursday - 19th (Juneteenth)

⛈️ Heavy Rain (98F / 74F) | 5:59AM / 8:33PM 🌘

• The City of Raleigh is hosting their official Juneteenth celebration at John Chavis Memorial Park from 5-9PM. Join for a day to honor history and come together for music, crafts, food, activities, and more — full details here for this FREE event.

• To extend the celebration, Marbles Museum & Moore Square are also hosting a day time event, starting at 10AM for family friendly fun with food trucks, artists, and play areas for the kids at Marbles — here.

• Every 3rd Thursday, visit Nicklepoint Brewing for... checks notes, the Motley Tunes Pirate Singing Meetup. The singers are in full pirate gear, take requests, and sing pub and sailor songs — feel free to join em… if ye dare, arggh!

Crankarm has their Trivia Night Thursday, hosted by Hammered Trivia. Brass Tap will be providing the prizes for 1st through 3rd place teams — more details here. 📷️ 

• Blackwater Band [beach music] @ Midtown Plaza / North Hills | 6PM - $5

• Jaguardini, Absent Lovers, & More [synth] @ Cannonball Music | 8PM - $10

• Mad Gallica [rock opera] @ Lincoln Theatre | 8PM - $25

Friday - 20th

• Guilty Pleasures Dance Party at Neptunes takes place from 7-10PM, with all your favorite 1 hit wonders, followed shortly after by the Y2K dance party — more here. 📷️ 

• Out! Raleigh Pride, takes place this Friday at 6-10PM and Saturday at 12-7PM. This is an all ages friendly event running for its 13th year and raises funds for 20+ community programs in the area with each year being more successful than the last — details.

• ⚽️ The North Carolina FC play Louisville FC at 7:30PM at home! They play them again next week away in the Group Stage of the USL Cup as well — tickets.

• The Rocky Horror Picture Show (the longest theatrical run in film still going since 1975) is playing once more at The Rialto for another midnight screening, tickets are $11 to this cult classic with live show — details on the event.

• Root Down Collective [jazz] @ Moon Room | 8PM - FREE

• The Ain’t Sisters w/ John Saylor [folk rock] @ Kings | 8PM - $20

Saturday - 21st

• Pop-up Raleigh at Trophy on Maywood Ave is back for the month with their huge event taking place from 12-5, check out their full vendor list on their site — linked here (psst, they have a mobile bookstore coming)!

• ⚽️ The NC Courage play at home for the first time in a few weeks with a 7:30PM game on Saturday against the Houston Dash — tickets here. This event is also their Pride themed night, details on that here.

Apex: King Garbage is playing the Rhythm & Reels event at Apex Nature Park Saturday at 7PM, join for a unique mix of movies and music — details here.

• Blue Whales, an exhibit opening Sunday at 10AM in the NC Museum of Natural Sciences goes in depth with the largest animal on Earth — get your tickets here!

• Just a reminder that the NCSU Ghost Tour has it’s last day on Saturday! Get tickets to this limited time partnered event with campus before the ghosts (and tickets) vanish.

• The Vintage + Vinyl Market at The Hartwell gets a new date of Sunday, from 2-6PM! They have food trucks ready, local vendors, cotton candy, and Triangle VGM Jams and Turnabout with the music for the day — more details:

Durham: Hope Animal Rescue and Ponysaurus Brewing Co host their monthly Pints & Pups event at 6PM, stop by to adopt a puppy or five — calendar link.

Show of The Week: The Brodie Cormack Band

We talked to these guys last time we were out and wanted to give them a good shout out (we met them on a rainy night in an empty bar) and thought they deserved a bigger crowd.

The Brodie Cormack Band plays a mix of the greatest country, blues, and southern rock and this 4 piece plays live THIS Saturday at The Lincoln Theatre at 8PM.

Builds & New Opens

• While the news is still vague, it seems the peaceful day out at Lake Crabtree may have had some effect as the RDU Aiport Authority is reconsidering the space as a possible entertainment district. We’ll have to see what that means — details here.

• Boatman Spirits is officially open as of this past weekend! We’ve been seeing news for a bit but check em out on Seaboard Station Dr between 4PM to midnight — website here.

City Civics & Bills

• Lighting, Public Art, Pedestrian Improvements? If this sounds like something you’re into, check out City Plaza or OEP downtown to give feedback on the future of the Fayetteville Streetscape — see you there?
