A BBQ legend moves, GoRaleigh has a new bus, and we've got a ton of music to get you over that midweek slump.

Good Morning Raleigh! Thank you for the feedback on the store and launch Monday, people seem to be enjoying the redesign and that’s always nice to see.

There’s a lot going on as we get into the weekend, so lets just jump into it today, okay?

June 4th - Wednesday

• Having already being spotted downtown, the GoRaleigh team recently decked out one of their buses with a special ALL GOLD wrap to celebrate their 50th anniversary, look for the bus downtown on your next commute:

• The Soccer Tournament starts today! This 7v7 tournament with a $1 million prize kicked off at 8AM this morning and runs through Sunday — details and full schedule here.

• Clockwork is partnering with Sneaky Fox Football Club to blur the lines between sports, nightlife, and culture. Meet MLS players, enjoy $7 tapas, and listen to music every night through Monday the 9th — announcement info here.

• Clyde Cooper's Barbeque sold its Downtown Raleigh location after nearly 90 years in service, with plans for another location “soon”. The new tenants will be Hibachi 88, a local Triangle Japanese restaurant with 6 locations — more info here.

• Just a reminder, the Mid Week Market is every Wednesday in Moore Square! As soon as 4PM grab your groceries before you head home all while supporting local — info below:

• The Summer Sip & Shop is back after being rain delayed last week, running from 6-8PM get a personalized wine glass, a voucher, and a raffle for a giveaway — click for more.

• Starting this week DTR will be lit (with tree trunk lights)! As part of the development strategy the city has laid out, 88 trees will now be wrapped with lights lining the street from now on.

June 5th - Thursday

• Check out Triangle Sketch Comedy at Theatre Raleigh for their comedy show about “getting the heck outta here” and taking some much needed R&R — tickets here.

• In the mood for some science trivia? NCMNS hosts a monthly event at the Daily Planet Cafe every first Thursday at 7PM — details on the event here.

Sometime Later

• Just a reminder, this months First Friday is almost here! The focus will be on celebrating Pride Month and the event will start at 5PM on the Warehouse District side of town.

• On Saturday the International Food Festival returns! The event draws over 50 countries, has FREE admission and runs nearly all day from 11AM-9PM — info here.

• The Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo returns June 28th downtown on Fayetteville Street, there will be over 50 trucks lining the road for this event — source here.

• Effective June 15th, CAM Raleigh is temporarily paused as they re-evaluate their future among the current financial landscape — details below:

• I wanted to shout The Great Raleigh Cleanup, a community non-profit that has picked up (literally) a ton over litter just this past week — check them out here & join if able.

• La Terrazza, the rooftop restaurant in the Warehouse District is hiring front and back of house — apply at this link if interested.

• Did you know that NCSU used to run The Daily Tar Hell, a parody of UNC’s Daily Tar Heel. Well thanks to this reddit user, I saw it was revived earlier this year after being shut down in 2014 — see the Jan. 2025 revival issue here and an interesting write-up on some of the history of it here at The Technician.

• The 1970’s Holiday Inn is here to stay! IHG have decided to renovate and preserve the historic 19 story hotel, fingers crossed they keep the top floor circular view of the city as well. This comes after talks of it being demolished for a new building — more below:

• The Raleigh to Richmond Amtrak rail line is awaiting federal funding of over $1 billion and is only a few weeks away from its final review of paperwork — more info here.

• NC Railroad Company filed for new plans to open a 3-story mixed use office building near the rezoned lot in the Warehouse District last year, removing surface parking and expanding the stations footprint — images recently shared here at DTRaleigh.

• Crooked Hammock is coming to Raleigh in 2026! Showcasing a 2 story stone fireplace, beer tank backdrops, and a porch bar this brewery should be a welcome new spot to West Raleigh — info here.

NCSU, Hurricanes, NC FC & Courage, & More.

NCSU Baseball: The Pack will finish out their post-season after falling to Auburn in the Regional Final, finishing the season 35-21 — see more on how the series went here.

NC FC: The FC play on Friday away against Hartford Athletic at 7:30PM.

NC Courage: The Courage play on Sunday in Washington as they look to move into Qualification for their league, currently sitting 10th out of 14.

Hurricanes: The Canes held their end of season press conference yesterday. The short of it is they want Burns back, plan to fully spend whats left of their budget cap, no staff changes, and Rod’s always going to join the handshake lines in the post-season — check out a more detailed write up over at wralSPORTSfan for more.
